YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
We’ve been involved as foursandeights and individually in several youth projects in the past few years and have been successful in gaining two Arts Council National Lottery Grants funding large scale community projects. In Motion which was part of We Shine 2021 as well as Pompey Glow Up working with 5 of the cities council-run youth clubs celebrating their communities in a series of creative workshops and public exhibition in inflatable immersive spaces. Their artwork glowed under UV light and animated making use of AR technologies. This was exhibited in 5 youth club locations from Portsea to Paulsgrove as part of We Shine 2024.We have also worked with Portsmouth City Council Musuem Services, D-Day Musuem, Portsea Youth Club, Brook Club and Motiv8.We’ve written and delivered programmes of workshops and events for young people with D-Day Story supported by the Dulverton Trust #iwill fund grant award which included ideation workshops, moodboarding, print making, bookbinding and graphic design.Having both grown up in Portsmouth and now creatives and academics it really means a lot to us that there is access to creative projects locally for young people.
