The Wind Breaks 2025
We are pleased to announce our work has been selected for The Wind Breaks for August - November 2025 on the sea facing side along with artist and print maker Elena Gluebute's beautiful work which is on the South Parade facing side.
The 5 artworks selected include a mix of different print making processes from relief printing with custom milled printing blocks, photopolymer printing plates we made in our studio, cnc rubber stamps and impressions of natural textures enhanced through custom made halftones. These were all editioned risograph, relief or screenprints.
One of the best things for us was to see how long it took our kids to notice whilst walking the promenade – SECONDS. This makes us super happy.
We're really pleased to have the opportunity to exhibit our work here.
We put connection and narrative at the heart of everything we do, it is the foundation for our experimentation and play. Creative exploration keeps the things we do fresh to us and full of joy. We fell in love with print, so everything centres around the processing of imagery, text and narratives for this as a medium. Even if things get very digital, moving away from ink and paper, we always infer that connection to physical and analogue design.
The Windbreaks is a Portsmouth City Council project providing new opportunities for the local arts community to exhibit their work in the public realm. Five double sided windbreak panels offer space to display ten large-scale artworks, creating an outdoor gallery on the promenade, which is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Windbreaks will display three exhibitions per year, running December-March, April-July and August-November.
The Windbreaks is proudly sponsored by VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster.
